Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker took advantage of his platform at Super Bowl 58 to deliver a political speech on abortion and criticize President Joe Biden.
Butker, who is a devout Catholic, spoke at an anti-abortion rally in Arizona on Thursday. During his speech, he praised the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and called for a ban on abortion in all 50 states.
Butker also took aim at President Biden, calling him "the most pro-abortion president in American history." Butker said that Biden's support for abortion rights is "an affront to human life."
Butker's speech has been met with criticism from both sides of the political aisle. Some have praised him for using his platform to speak out on his beliefs, while others have condemned him for politicizing the Super Bowl.
Butker is a three-time Super Bowl champion and is considered one of the best kickers in the NFL. He is entering his eighth season with the Chiefs in 2024.
