BTS's Jin to Begin Mandatory Military Service
Breaking News:
Jin, the oldest member of the global K-pop sensation BTS, will start his mandatory military service requirement next month.
According to a source with direct knowledge, Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, will be the first BTS member to enter South Korea's military. The news comes as a surprise to many fans, who had hoped that the group would be exempt from the requirement due to their international fame and contributions to South Korean culture.
South Korea's Military Service Act requires all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 to serve for approximately two years. Jin, who turned 29 in December, had been granted a two-year postponement due to his work with BTS.
The exact date of Jin's military enlistment has not yet been announced, but it is expected to take place in December. During his service, Jin will be assigned to a non-active duty role that will allow him to continue his music career.
BTS's management company, Big Hit Music, has released a statement confirming the news and expressing their support for Jin's decision. "We would like to inform you that Jin will be enlisting in the military on the date designated by the Military Manpower Administration," the statement read. "After completing his required military service, he will return and resume his activities with BTS."
Jin's military service will mark a significant moment in BTS's history. The group has achieved unprecedented success in recent years, becoming one of the most popular bands in the world and breaking numerous records.
